ECGSSIM 2.1
ECGSIM is an interactive simulation program that enables one to study the relationship between the electric activity of the heart and the resulting potentials on the thorax: PQRST wave forms as well as body surface potential maps.
Prof. van Oosterom, Dr Oostendorp and Dr van Dam release a new version of ECGSIM (2.1) in which several major changes have been implemented, such as
- the inclusion of the handling of the electric activity of the atria;
- a highly refined representation of the relevant geometry, with 1500 nodes representing the ventricular geometry and 1500 nodes representing the geometry of the ventricles;
- a refined parameterization of the shape of the transmembrane potential that sets the strength of the cardiac sources at the heart surface;
- an improved access to source locations at the endocardium, facilitated by a feature for displaying cross-sections through the myocardium;
- improved options for varying specific source parameters locally as well as globally.
